2024 In Review

2024 was a very interesting year for me in terms of creating new images. I had the chance to visit a few places I had never been to before and I took complete advantage of those situations! I also tried some new perspectives and techniques in the places I have visited on many occasions and was pretty pleased with my results.

Overall, I added many new photos to my portfolio and master collections! I look forward to doing much more of the same in 2025.

Some photographers like to make a list of their Top 10 photographs. I find that very difficult to do. All of my images are creations, therefore making it quite difficult to pick my absolute favorites. Keeping that in mind, I chose to highlight ten images that defined this past year for me!

Factory Chutes | Utah | Limited Gallery Edition of 50

This is my interpretation of an iconic photograph by that many photographers have tried to recreate over the years. While I typically look for my own unique compositions, this particular look at this iconic Utah formation was something I wished to attempt. This particular image captures the essence of a soft sunrise in the badlands of Southern Utah.

House On Fire | Utah | Limited Archival Edition of 200

This archaeological treasure is the remnants of ancient dwellings by the Anasazi natives. It was built sometime between 700 and 1000 years ago on a cliffside deep in the beautiful canyons of southern Utah. When the sun rises in the morning, the reflected light from within the canyon lights up the rock walls to give the appearance that this is a house on fire. This is one of the most iconic images from the American Southwest.

The Sonoran Desert surrounding the Superstition Mountains of Arizona is amongst the most versatile and scenic desert landscapes found anywhere in the world. With the towering saguaros, lush vegetation and uniquely sculpted rock formations, this area tends to produce striking images unlike any other. This aerial image was captured in October of 2024 as the setting sun produced an array of beautiful color and light.

The Expanse | Utah | Limited Special Edition of 100

A sea of delicately sculpted hills expand all the way to the distant horizon in this aerial image of the badlands in southern Utah. As the sun rises in the morning, the contrast of the shadows and sculptures produce otherworldly scenes like no other.

Mesa Arch Sunrise | Utah | Limited Archival Edition of 200

Mesa Arch is a prime landmark of the Island In The Sky section of Canyonlands National Park in Utah and is a sought after destination for both photographers and nature enthusiasts from all around the globe. For a short time after sunrise, the light of the sun will reflect off of the sandstone ledge below illuminating the bottom of the arch with a soft orange glow. It is truly a magnificent spectacle to behold.

Ripples of Time | Utah | Limited Special Edition of 100

The undulating hills of the badlands of southern Utah are quite spectacular when you are standing in the midst of them and observing the seemingly endless landscapes shaped by millions of years of wind and water erosion. But, the aerial view presents an entirely different perspective altogether, showcasing the naturally sculpted topography reminiscent of an alien world.

Rise | Utah | Limited Special Edition of 100

The vast expanse of desert that surrounds Factory Butte is one of the most dramatic and unique landscapes of the desert southwest. The rugged terrain is comprised of gray sandstone and shale rock formations that have been artistically sculpted by millions of years of erosion and weathering. The results are a mesmerizing array of hills, jagged spires and plateaus creating a canvas of geological amazement. Couple that with an aerial view and the perspective changes completely.

The Dark Spire | Utah | Limited Archival Edition of 200

The Spire is a unique rock formation in the vast desert of southern Utah. It's a tall, narrow spire composed of weathered, crumbly rock, likely sandstone. was formed millions of years ago through a combination of geological processes. The rock itself is a remnant of a larger formation that was slowly eroded away, leaving behind this impressive spire that stands tall amidst the flat landscape. This image was captured on a uniquely moody evening creating a dynamic image that captures the dramatic aesthetic of this incredible landscape.

The sunsets of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona have to be seen to be believed. When you add the magic of those sunsets with the rugged and beautiful Superstition Mountains, you begin to understand why photographers travel from all over the world to capture these magnificent scenes.
