Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park has long been celebrated for its ethereal sunrise glow. At a certain time after sunrise, the sunlight catches the rock beneath the arch, reflecting upward and bathing the interior in a warm, beautiful light. On this particular morning in the summer of 2024, a distant storm rolled in and was framed perfectly by the arch’s opening. Incredibly, the arch still held that morning glow, producing a striking, dynamically contrasting image between warm light and brooding clouds. This stunning fine art image was masterfully photographed by southwest photographer Todd Stapleton, capturing this one solitary moment to be preserved, admired and cherished for a lifetime.
